"Sebastian's entire body hurt. The ground was cold, damp, and organic beneath him. He had a splitting headache. Shallow breathes prevented his chest from hurting, but he was alive. At least he appeared to be. He tried to open his eyes, but his head hurt too much. His jaw felt broken. The last thing he remembered he was throwing his body into the cockpit of the shuttle, arms tied behind his back. He attempted to dislocate the pilot from his position, while the co-pilot assaulted him.
Seba willed his eyes open. They had crash-landed into a damp wilderness area, no idea how long he had been knocked out. He crawled into a sitting position. Wreckage from the shuttle could be seen in every direction, but no signs of the crew. Maybe they had died in the crash. Maybe they had survived and would be back to re-capture him.
Seba couldn't allow that. His days of being an Amarrian slave were over, one way or the other."
