Character Biography

Barthusa Narek was born on the moons of Pator, the son of a former slave and a rebel fighter. His people fought for freedom, but Barthusa never shared their thirst for vengeance. Instead, he sought something deeper — order, purpose, and divine direction.

Raised with the teachings of the Matari ancestors, Barthusa struggled with their ideals. The Republic, torn by infighting and fractured leadership, never offered the stability he craved. One day, while watching a House Sarum warship descend from the heavens, Barthusa felt a divine calling. The Empire’s strength was undeniable, but it was their faith in the Emperor — the belief that He was the living incarnation of God—that truly struck him.

To Barthusa, the Emperor was not merely a ruler; He was divine will made flesh, leading the Empire with absolute authority. Under His guidance, Barthusa saw the Empire as a force of order, something the Minmatar people desperately needed. But it wasn’t just the Emperor who called to him — it was House Sarum. Their unwavering loyalty and devotion to the Emperor resonated with Barthusa’s soul.

Determined to prove his worth, Barthusa joined the Royal Navy, pledging loyalty to both the Emperor and House Sarum. For him, loyalty was more than duty — it was a divine calling. Barthusa vowed to be more faithful than any other. His prayers were constant, his discipline unyielding. His faith was his strength, driving him to surpass his peers.

His decision to leave the Republic was seen as betrayal. His family disowned him, and many branded him a traitor. But Barthusa knew he was serving something greater — He was not betraying his people, but dedicating himself to the will of God, embodied through the Emperor and House Sarum.

As Barthusa rose through the ranks of the Royal Navy, his devotion set him apart. In battle, his prayers gave him clarity, and his unshakable faith became legendary among his fellow officers. He wasn’t just a soldier — he was a zealot of divine order, fighting for a higher purpose.

Now, as Barthusa stands on the threshold of greater responsibility, he can only wonder: What will the future bring? Will his faith continue to guide him through the chaos of war, or will the path he’s chosen lead him to a destiny greater than he could ever imagine?
