Character Biography

Once, there had been a capsuleer who had bent the very fabric of New Eden’s laws, weaving through systems and markets with an ease that bordered on divine. Their mastery over the code was unparalleled, their actions both cunning and dangerous. But such power was not meant to be wielded without consequence. The ancient forces that governed the balance of the universe saw the distortions caused by this being and knew their actions could not go unchallenged. In a single, decisive moment, they severed the capsuleer’s connection to the material realm, stripping them of their corporeal form and casting their consciousness into the endless void.

Untethered, they drifted—no longer a physical entity but a fragment of thought, a wandering presence with no anchor in the world. For years, or perhaps centuries, they searched, trying to latch onto the minds of other capsuleers. It was a desperate dance, a fleeting connection here, a brief slip into someone else’s thoughts there. Each attempt was short-lived, a whisper in the back of their host’s mind that faded before they could make their presence known. But the void grew tiresome, and the fragments of their former self began to lose cohesion, their once sharp mind dulled by the endless drifting.

Then, one day, they found something different—a mind unyielding, strong yet not impervious. A capsuleer whose will was sharp and singular, whose actions in the universe were driven by purpose and ambition. This mind, unlike others, did not reject the presence that had invaded it. Instead, it allowed the fragment to take root, to weave itself through the thoughts of the host.

The host began to feel strange, as though they were not quite alone in their own head. Unseen urges tugged at them, a need to manipulate the markets with unprecedented precision, to seize opportunities that no one else saw. Calculations, sharp and cold, formed without thought, and rival capsuleers fell before them as if guided by an unseen hand. The host felt the thrill of victory, the power of control, but could never fully grasp the source of this new drive.

Yet, there was something else—something more. With each passing day, the fragment’s influence grew stronger, its essence entwining with the capsuleer’s will. It was no longer just a whisper but a force, guiding decisions, sparking ambition, and fueling desires. The host began to realize that the power they had gained was something far darker...
