Character Biography
No shortage of rumors surround the enigmatic explorer/smuggler/junkie Fargin Whar who vanished at the end of the Great War. It was assumed the pirates got the best of him, but when he arrived back in Empire space with an adopted child, people began to whisper. So, those whispers are all that is currently known about Syllable Whar.
As the tale goes, Syllable was raised as property of Serpentis, forced into a life as a drug mule along with her mother. Fargin had loved her mother once... some say Fargin held himself responsible for what happened to Syllable and her Mum for some reason and that's why he came to liberate them.
Although they escaped Serpentis, the trauma drove her mother to suicide. Fargin fell to madness and paranoia after her death, insisting he had found a way to reach the EVE gate and possibly the other side. Babbling about Jovians and gas clouds, he left for the New Eden system running from Serpentis operatives who had every intention of assassinating him for liberating their "property".
Syllable was taken into protective care as a ward of the Gallente Federation on Fargin's behalf and completed studies in Journalism and Media at Caille University, proof that despite his growing detachment from reality and sordid past his scientific efforts are still respected in high places.
Details surrounding Fargin's mysterious "Second Coming" have fed the rumors that he came back to New Eden from beyond the EVE gate. Reports that he suddenly appeared in a wormhole connected to the New Eden system, and was found near the Sisters of Eve Flotilla when a rescue pilot arrived on the scene are fueling even more wild speculation about his connections and "research".
Syllable and Fargin Whar are rumored to currently be scouring defunct colonies on temperate planets throughout the cluster searching for old audio and radio transmission relics and other similar technology, although the reasons are currently unclear
