Character Biography
Born in YC 97 in a Caldari deep-space mining colony in Lonetrek, Jiro Kessler grew up amid the cold void and grueling labor of extraction platforms. His father, a disciplined overseer, taught him resilience and problem-solving. At 18, Jiro’s technical aptitude and cool-headedness drew Caldari Navy recruiters, and he enlisted, eager to escape the mines and prove himself in the State’s meritocracy.
At the Kisogo Navy Academy, Jiro endured brutal training—zero-G drills, simulations, and psychological tests. His composure under pressure shone, and he specialized in the Ferox-class battlecruiser, its railguns and shields suiting his precision. By YC 115, he graduated with honors, earning the callsign “Wraith” for his eerie accuracy.
Deployed to the CNV Iron Sentinel in Pure Blind, Jiro faced Gallente border skirmishes. Piloting Steel Fang, his Ferox, he excelled in kiting Gallente frigates, his railguns shredding foes from afar. Promoted to Lieutenant in YC 117, he led a Ferox wing, mastering tactical maneuvers. In the Battle of Kassigainen V, his wing saved a convoy, earning him a valor citation.
But corporate corruption tainted the Navy. In YC 119, during Operation “Iron Veil” in Black Rise, Jiro’s squadron was ambushed by Guristas due to a Hyasyoda-linked officer’s betrayal. Half his wing perished, eroding his trust. Reassigned to The Forge, Jiro uncovered Captain Toru Hama’s resource siphoning for Kaalakiota. His reports were ignored, and Hama sidelined him.
In YC 121, Operation “Cold Forge” in Okkamon exposed Hama’s treachery—Jiro’s wing was lured into a Guristas trap. Jiro’s quick thinking saved his team, but corporate operatives seized his family’s assets, citing fake debts. Branded a liability,
Jiro deserted in YC 122, renaming Steel Fang to Iron Requiem and turning mercenary.
Jiro’s Navy-honed Ferox skills—railgun precision, shield tanking, and tactical kiting—made him a feared freelancer. In YC 124, he allied with Atkin Bolarious, their shared betrayal forging a partnership. Jiro’s Ferox leads their contracts, his past fueling a relentless quest for honor.
