Risto Volkov grew up as the younger brother in a family of Caldari corporate workers, always looking up to his older brother Mikeal, who seemed to possess a great talent for navigating the complexities of the market. From an early age, Risto wanted to follow in his brother's footsteps, eager to learn the ways of trade and resource management. Determined to prove himself, he joined Mikeal’s growing enterprise, working closely with him to expand his experience.
Despite his efforts, one fateful event marked a turning point in Risto’s life. Tasked with overseeing the transport of a critical ore shipment to Jita IV, his convoy was ambushed by Guristas pirates. Risto fought bravely to protect the Miasmos fleet but ultimately suffered a devastating loss: not only was the shipment destroyed, but Risto himself lost an eye in the fight. The experience left him scarred, both physically and emotionally, but it also ignited a fierce determination to ensure such a failure would never happen again.
Following the incident, Risto underwent military training, polishing his combat skills and learning the tactics necessary to defend against New Eden’s many threats. Though he excelled in his training, Risto chose not to serve the Caldari State. Instead, he returned to his brother’s enterprise, taking on the role of chief of staff for the Miasmos fleet's protection. In this position, Risto oversees all security operations, using his military expertise to ensure the safety of their transports and the valuable resources they carry.
In his free time, Risto channels his anger and resolve into a personal vendetta against pirate cartels like the Guristas, as a way to take the fight to those who once cost him so much. While he focuses on security and defense, his brother handles the business and strategy, making them a strong team in both trade and protection.
