Being the oldest of three children, Jack grew up on a research facility orbiting Taisy Prime, a dull and lifeless existence surrounded by images of death. His younger brother he has never met.
Raised only by his mother a researcher with the Caldari State who diligently occupied herself with her duties with finding a cure for the Kyonoke Infection. Being forcibly removed from the facility after it was discovered that she was developing a biological weapon for the Caldari State, a regrettable decision frowned upon by the medical practitioners. Protesting her innocence, she was stripped of her qualifications, but in years to come she was mysteriously pardoned.
Not wanting to be branded with his mother's fate, Jack decided at an early age to pursue an Industrial career, asteroids and cargo are easier to deal with than people. A life of solidarity in the cold dark depths of space soon take a toll on a person. To pass time and fill a void Jack can be heard talking to himself, hence the name Cackling Jack.
