The Gallente have done quite well on most important social issues; but in the case of religious tolerance, particularly Amarrian fundamentalism, they seem to have fallen completely flat. We've entered into a sort of moral confusion on this topic.
We need to start speaking more honestly about the roots of Amarrianism and Amarrian terror. There is no doubt in my mind that the vast majority of Amarrians are kind, peaceful people that have no desire to commit acts of violence against non-believers. This isn't about any kind of bigotry towards Amarrians. Some of my best friends are Amarrian.
We're simply talking about the connection between belief and behaviour. There are people in Domain at this very moment who genuinely believe the Emperor to be the hand of God, and genuinely believe God to be benevolent and all-knowing. If you take a moment to actually think about the consequences of those beliefs, it should surprise absolutely no one that they are willing to commit heinous acts of terror in the name of the Empire.
If you think Gallente foreign policy in the region can explain honor killings, or the flogging of Minmatar slaves, you just aren't paying attention.
