Persephone... The lost system. Once a relatively small system Persephone managed to remain independant from the control of the New Eden Empires, keeping to its own borders and maintaining heavy security to ensure a peaceful free port where travellers, traders and mercenaries from any banner, empire or belief system would be welcome.
Until the great Stargates themsevles, sole connections between the system and the rest of New Eden collapsed, one by one sealing the inhabitants of Persephone into a lost system, one of billions in vast expanses of space. And so it remained. Its exact location and cause of its disappearance unknown to all those outside.
Centuries later, the Free People's Republic, a similarly small group of capsuleers began a search. To re-establish the ideals held by the community of that system, and to locate a suitable space beyond the grasp of the Empires to settle, unite and rebuild a New Persephone.
